This file includes all changes made to the Comdasys MC Client since the last release version 3.0.0. This Client version is available for both Symbian (general), as well as Nokia FP 1 and FP2 versions. There is also a version available for Symbian 5th Editions phones with touch screen User Interfaces. The 5th Edition version works as well for Symbian ^3 phones such as Nokia N8, C7, E7 and others. =================================================================================== Changes: =================================================================================== ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Bug Fixes: ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- - Fixed issue with Bluetooth headset that led to audio being misrouted - Fixed instability in conjunction with handover on some devices - Fixed UI issue in conjunction with IM receiving - missing ringtone - Fixed issue with display light handling - Call log fix to avoid call log from no longer being accessible after rejecting an incoming cellular call - Client will now exit properly even on some of the formerly problematic devices such as C5 and E72 - Correct handling and display of server responses for unsuccessful calls - Fix for issue with waiting call on E6 devices that could lead to a client crash ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Misc Changes: ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- - Client now better handles corrupt entries in call history. If you are missing a lot of entries in the call history in the client, please delete the call history. Client now stops reading the call log after one corrupt entry - Factory reset option now available throughout all client types and platforms ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Known Issues: ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- - A missed cellular call will not have a popup dialog if the call was missed while an enterprise call has been going on. The client will correctly add this call to the call log, but not display a dialog. This is actually so by design because the missed call cannot possibly have been an Enterprise call (as the Controller would correctly signal a waiting call instead of placing another one). Therefore the popup is only visible on the native dialer - this explanation is avoid confusion and clarify that this behavior is actually as designed - Some Symbian ^ 3 devices take up to 2 seconds to initialize the audio output after a VoIP call has been accepted. This behavior has been improved on later firmware releases and is not present on later devices. The primary device affected by this was the Nokia N8. It does however not have any further negative impact. - Not all icons scale correctly or will be visible under all circumstances when switching from portrait to landscape mode - The slider on the E66 phone has no effect in VoIP calls independent of the configuration setting in the system. This is because this functionality is device specific to the E66 device. - Since Symbian 3, Anna, Belle is taking the complete control of access point handling, the AP configuration in the client can be problematic. Depending on what you set there this can have grave consequences for the client behavior. The native priorities are the ones that are important to configure since the system has the last say in AP connection. This means that for your Internet connection in the system, all WIFI access points must be before the first GPRS access point to make sure the client connects over WIFI. Furthermore, the GPRS access point providing Internet access (as compared to MMS or WAP) must be above any of those. Since the application has no influence on AP selection anymore we can only make things in the client more intuitive and alert the user about misconfiguration, but we cannot actually override the system behavior. - Sometimes the first configuration download after application installation fails on an E52. This can be related with the application not being able to establish a data connection quickly enough. Simply retry this. - If you see the message "Maximum Number of connections reached. Please close an active connection first. (-6000)" error message or similar when trying to use features in GPRS please make sure to check your APN settings. It is a known Symbian issue to react this way on a failed connection attempt. - When typing a number with a + or a * as the first character inside the client, this character can only be seen when typing the next digit or other character. This happens on E52 and is a firmware issue - Note that for compatibility issues on the different handsets, the client cannot be in front on receiving of a GSM calls (as was possible on some handsets in the past) - Activating the loudspeaker in VoIP calls on Symbian ^3 or higher phones is currently disabled as several firmware versions across different phones have broken firmware support for this.
